American Mine Door's October 2016 e-NEWSLETTER
Welcome to American Mine Door’s All Video Issue
At American Mine Door, we know all the benefits, bullet points, and graphs in the world don’t have the same impact as the right picture. And where a picture might be worth a thousand words, a video let’s you see things for yourself.
So this month our newsletter is devoted to videos and animations. Let us walk you through the operations of our high pressure mine doors, one video at a time.
A Mine Door Overview
Our first video shows the American Mine Door facilities in operation, with detailed close-ups of door operation and mechanics.
Door Operation Animation
With AMD’s unique design, door wings open in opposite directions. This allows our mine doors to withstand many inches of water gauge pressure. The same air pressure that assists the door in opening also assists it in closing, equalizing pressure.
Limestone Mine Operation
In the next video, we see this proven design in operation for a Limestone mine.
AMD’s mine doors have been installed in trackless mines all over the world, including a wide range of underground mining operations, from coal, uranium, salt, and gypsum to clay, gold, potash, titanium, and molybdenum.
Airlock Animation Showing Truck in Underground Mine
This video demonstrates how two doors installed in an airlock configuration respond to automated system controls, opening and closing at the approach and passing of a vehicle.
AMD’s automation controls not only operate reliably under harsh mining conditions, they also add significantly to mine safety and can be customized to your mining environment. Learn more by visiting the Door Automation page on the American Mine Door website.
Mine Door Collision Avoidance System
One of the most costly accidents in mining operation is the collision of a heavy vehicle with the airlock door or door framing. At AMD, we’ve developed an effective alert system to keep drivers on their course and alert them of collisions.
Learn more about our new system on AMD’s Collision Avoidance page.
By improving safety, automating controls, and developing some of the most reliable mine door systems in the world today, American Mine Door is also saving costs and making underground operations more affordable.
